چکیده

This study aimed to develop a suitable feeding program for the Asian sea bass, lates calcarifer fingerlings under supersaline condition by testing different feeding rates (FR) and feeding frequencies (FF). Three feeding rates namely; 1%, 2% and 4% and three feeding frequencies 1X, 2X and 4X were used in the study. Results showed that growth after 60 days parameters gave the highest values with 4% and 4X. FCR increased with increasing FR, while better FCR and PER was achieved with increasing FF. Survival rates in all the feeding rates and frequencies were almost 100%. Significant relationship was recorded between growth, FCR and PER and feeding rates, but not with FF. No significant relationship in both FR and FF with survival rate. Interaction effect of FR and FF was exhibited in all the growth parameters and FCR. All the water quality values obtained were within the safe limits for rearing the Asian sea bass fingerlings.

EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT TEMPERATURE AND FEEDING RATE ON GROWTH PERFORMANCE, BODY COMPOSITION AND BLOOD PARAMETERS OF ASIAN SEA BASS (LATES CALCARIFER)

This study aimed to investigate the effects of different temperatures (20, 27 and 33 °C) and two feeding rates (2.5 % biomass per day and satiation) on growth performance, body composition, hematology and blood biochemistry of Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer). For this purpose, 8 fish with an average initial weight of 99.55 ± 0.24 g were randomly transported to 200 liters tanks (6 treatments w...

Effects of intermittent feeding on compensatory growth, feed intake and body composition in Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer)

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of various starvation and refeeding periods on growth, feed utilization and body composition in Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer) with an average initial weight of 30.26±1.4 g (mean±SE). The fish were exposed to three different regimes: the control group fed twice daily to apparent satiation throughout the experiment (C), the first group ...

Osmoregulatory Parameters of Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer) during adaptation in Freshwater

In the present study, the adaptation of Asian sea bass (lates calcarifer) was investigated in fresh water using physiological parameters of osmoregulation including: the plasma levels of thyroid hormones and cortisol, gill Na+/ K+-ATPase activity and plasma concentrations of sodium and chloride. For this purpose, 60 fish were distributed in three 300 L tanks with a density of 20 fish per tank. ...
